Loving Room Fund
To create Living Room for all, Living Room Realty seeks to be the change we wish to see. We are dedicated to being the best neighbors we can, by being a better company for a better community.
By creating an agent charitable giving fund, we strive to foster connection, abundance, and joy within our community. As a group of member agents, we believe together we have the ability to affect change and make a greater impact, united in our efforts. The success of our business is rooted in our commitment to support our local community in every way we can.
With every home sale, our agents will make a donation from a portion of their commission. This year, our clients can elect for those donations to go to P:ear, Urban Gleaners, or Oregon Wild. At the Coast, our clients will have a donation made on their behalf to the North Tillamook Library in Manzanita, Oregon.
Since 2001, p:ear has been building positive, mentoring relationships with homeless young people through education, arts and recreational opportunities. p:ear responds to the individual needs of each youth during the precarious and complex process of exiting street life. p:ear is founded on the belief that empowering each youth to reach their potential will result in a healthier community – for everyone. Urban Gleaners rescues edible surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away from grocery stores, restaurants, event sites, farms and farmers markets. We collect roughly 50,000 pounds of food each month and deliver it free of charge to hungry children and their families through our Food to Schools program here in Portland. According to Portland Metro, Oregon now has the highest rate of childhood hunger in the nation. To meet this challenge, Urban Gleaners provides fresh, healthy food for home consumption to kids and families. With Americans throwing away 40% of their food, landfills are becoming one of the largest producers of methane gas emissions. Please help us in our mission to reduce waste and want. VISIT WEBSITE
Oregon Wild works to protect and restore the wildlands, wildlife, and waters that make Oregon the best place on Earth to live. Since 1974, we’ve secured permanent protection for places like Mount Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, Waldo Lake, Opal Creek, and Portland’s drinking water source, the Bull Run watershed. Right now, one of our main efforts is aimed at permanently protecting over 500,000 acres of wildlands in and around Oregon’s only national park – Crater Lake – as Wilderness. We’ve also been a strong advocate for Oregon’s native wildlife such as wolverine, salmon, sea otters, and gray wolves. Check us out at www.oregonwild.org and come join us on a hike! VISIT WEBSITE
The North Tillamook Library was dedicated in July, 1987, after a community-wide fund raising effort to finance construction of the building. The Library enjoys a unique public-private partnership with the Tillamook County Library. The North Tillamook County Library Board, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that receives no government funding, owns and maintains the building and grounds. Tillamook County Library provides library staff, books, digital media, and programs. The North Tillamook Library Friends, a membership organization, elects directors of the North Tillamook Library Board and raises funds throughout the year to maintain the building and grounds.
